I create intricate,  multi layered often surreal large scale line drawings which are inspired by natural history and museum collections. They are specific in both internal and external environments, either for gallery installations or public spaces. I also make delicately scalpeled paper drawings and illustrate publications.  I have an endless fascination with natural history specimens, archaeology and anatomical collections. It is the fluid lines always present in my work that allows me the identity I find through drawing whether the work is a large scale mural or an illustration for publication.

My work focuses on the nature of humanity, the environment and relationships between humans and other creatures, often in alternative realities blurring boundaries between species.

I am  the Resident Visual Artist for Air Arts, the Arts Charity for University Hospitals of Derby & Burton. The Air Arts team has recently won’ Team of the Year’ National  award from The Patient Experience Network.

I have exhibited  in galleries and museums Nationally. My exhibitions include: da Vinci: A Life in Drawing, a Royal Collections Trust exhibition; Still Spirits for Manchester Museum  Images of my work have being shown at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace as part of the Regional exhibitions context for Leonardo da Vinci: A life in Drawing.

I am currently exhibiting a series of  scalpel and ink drawings commissioned by Fleet Arts at Royal Derby Hospital. I also have illustrations in ‘Florence Nightingale: Health in the Home’ exhibition at Pickford’s House Museum.

My drawings are part of the collections at Calke Abbey The National Trust, Derby  Museums & Art Gallery and at the end of 2021, Fleet Arts. In the Summer of 2022 I will have created a permanent, interactive installation as part of a new Toy Theatre gallery for Pickford’s House Museum.

A key part of my practice are transforming spaces by creating intricate delicate murals inspired by natural history and museum collections. My murals have been inspired by the Natural History collection Wollaton Hall, Derby Museums and have been supported by Calke Abbey, The National Trust.

I often create murals for the NHS which include gardens and internal spaces, two of which have won NHS awards, ‘The Healing Garden’ commissioned by The End of Life team at Royal Derby Hospital and ‘The woodland, ICU Patient Garden’.  July 2021 will see the completion of  the ‘Forget Me Not’ garden created in partnership with Calke Abbey, The National Trust. 2022 will see the creation of my largest mural commission to date, at the  Kings Treatment Centre.
